During the closing reception of Toil, and a Peaceful Life Pumice Raft hosted Ashley Diana Culver for a new iteration of their project Soupy.
Soupy is a heart-warming and stomach-filling gathering where Ashley serves soups that are prepared with ingredients inspired by the conditions or place of the selected site. It is an invitation to play with food and consume legumes. It grows out of simplicity and joyfulness. For this iteration of Soupy, Ashley is prepared recipes riffing off of the over-arching principles of the exhibition as well as a Mennonite community cookbook titled More with Less, originally published in 1976.
