Pumice Raft is excited to invite you to the Canadian launch of Amy Ching-Yan Lam’s recent publication: Property Journal. This event is co-presented in association with Pumice Raft’s Undercurrents Forum and will feature readings and conversations between Amy Ching-Yan Lam, writer Trynne Delaney, and writer and culture worker Amani Bin Shikhan.

We see in Lam’s book an important and parallel engagement with the pervasive nature of real estate development in Toronto that has come to underscore people’s lives and livelihoods. This has of course been a major point of engagement for the Undercurrents Forum as we’ve focused on the entanglement of real-estate development and culture from funding through to policies and private public partnerships that integrate cultural production. Additionally, Pumice Raft will support Sunday's launch by facilitating a live stream and producing video documentation to promote further discourse around these shared concerns. Facilitating documentation is important to Pumice Raft’s approach to digital accessibility and allowing its activities to proliferate beyond its local public.
