Everything that counts cannot necessarily be counted

October 25-November 16, 2025
Kelly Mark

Opening Reception: October 25th from 5:00pm-8:00pm

Beginning with an archival exercise of scanning Kelly’s notebooks, Pumice Raft opens up a space where ephemera from the artist’s personal archive is an invitation for Kelly’s friends, peers, and the public to reflect on a practice dedicated to duration, process, and labour.

This exhibition is part of Everything & Nothing, a multi-site survey exhibition highlighting the influential work of the late conceptual artist, Kelly Mark. The project is anchored by a wide-spanning solo exhibition hosted by Olga Korper Gallery (October 4 - November 1, 2025) who continues to represent Mark’s estate. Everything & Nothing will also take place across a number of other venues around the city with a cascading sequence of events, screenings, and presentations that hone in on distinct qualities of Mark’s career and interests.

Kelly Mark (1967-2025) was a multidisciplinary conceptual artist who spent the majority of her career in Toronto. Her work was widely exhibited across Canada and internationally including at The National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto), The Power Plant (Toronto), Contemporary Art Gallery (Vancouver), Musee d'Art Contemporain (Montreal), MSVU Art Gallery (Halifax), Ikon Gallery (UK), and represented Canada at The Sydney Biennale (1998) and Liverpool Biennale (2006). Mark is represented in the public collections of The National Gallery of Canada, The Canada Council Art Bank, Canadian Foreign Affairs, The Art Gallery of Ontario, Musee D'Art Contemporain and many other public, corporate and private collections. Mark received a diploma from The Dundas Valley School of Art (1991) and a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design (1994). In early 2026, a posthumous celebration of Mark’s iconic Glow House will be presented in multiple cities across Canada.
